Hiring in Brazil through an EOR: a buyer’s checklist

When a US team hires in Brazil, the employee experience and the employer budget need to be reviewed together. Your English-language sales call should lead to a clear employment package that the person in Brazil can understand and use.

Test the handoff from sales to local employment support

Ask how the account moves from the salesperson to the people handling contracts, payroll and employee questions. Request a sample of the employee-facing onboarding instructions and confirm the language and hours of support. A polished employer dashboard does not show whether a new employee will know where to get a payroll question answered.

Four questions for the quote call

Who confirms the applicable employment terms?

Provide the work location and role description. Ask the local team which rules or agreements it will apply and what assumptions could change the quote.

Can both sides understand the agreement?

Request the language versions available to your company and to the employee. Confirm the process for explaining differences and resolving a translation question.

How are benefits presented?

Ask for the actual package available for this hire, enrollment timing, employee contributions if any and the cost of optional upgrades.

What does support look like after onboarding?

Request the escalation route for incorrect pay, a delayed benefit enrollment or an urgent contract change. Ask which team communicates with the employee.

A buying scenario

A US software company hiring a senior engineer should compare the actual benefits package, intellectual-property paperwork and support process alongside the fee. Ask a prospective provider to walk through a hypothetical pay correction so you can see who would own it.

Your next step

Use a local employment walkthrough as part of the shortlist. Do not make the decision entirely from an English-language product demonstration.

Start with documented availability

Deel publishes an employee-hiring page for Brazil. That is evidence of an advertised country offering, not confirmation that your particular role is eligible. Our five-provider calculator uses general service-fee schedules; ask every shortlisted provider to confirm country and role availability directly.
